About RLY New Colony
Railway New Colony, often written RLY New Colony, is a residential and commercial area of Visakhapatnam. It takes its name from the railway colony, and its PIN code is 530016.
The area sits next to Kancharapalem, Akkayyapalem, Tatichetlapalem and Dondaparthi. The Sri Kanya theatre is a landmark many people know, so you can mention it if your home is close by.
Short moves to nearby areas
Many moves from RLY New Colony are only to the next area. A short move still needs proper packing, as the goods are loaded and unloaded just the same. Common ones are:
- To Akkayyapalem – the area right beside the colony.
- To Kancharapalem – another close neighbour.
- To Tatichetlapalem – a short drive away.
- To Dondaparthi or Dwaraka Nagar – both within easy reach.
- Across Vizag – to Gajuwaka, Madhurawada or any other part of the city.
- Out of Vizag – see our route guides.
Getting your kitchen ready to move
The kitchen has the most small and breakable things in a home. A little work before moving day makes packing faster:
- Use up open food
Finish loose groceries in the last week, and close pickle and oil jars tightly with tape on the lid.
- Empty the fridge
Switch it off the night before so it can dry, and keep the shelves aside for packing.
- Disconnect the stove
Get the gas stove disconnected, and keep the pipe and regulator together in one bag.
- Keep a day kit
Set aside a few plates, glasses, a pan and tea things for the first day in the new home.
Our team packs glassware, crockery and vessels separately. The rest of the rooms are covered under our household shifting service.
Moving cost in RLY New Colony
A short move to the next area costs less than a move across Vizag, but the amount of goods and packing matter most. We see your goods first, then send a quote with packing, labour, vehicle and transport on separate lines, along with taxes.
If a scooter or car is coming along, read how our vehicle transport works.
